Course Schedule Information
Academic Calendar and Modalities
Please refer to the Academic Calendar on the Registrar's web page for the appropriate term to identify important dates (as well as tuition and fee information).
The course schedules on this page include courses offered at all New River locations and in all modalities (Instructional Modalities Explained).New River CTC offers courses using five Instructional Modalities (or methods). Fully remote learning options include WEB and ZOOM. Blended learning options include TRAD, IVN, and HYFLX. All five methods typically use Brightspace D2L (a learning management system) and Zoom (a videoconferencing solution).
Course Schedule Viewing Options
Three options are available for viewing the course schedule for a term. Each option displays scheduling information differently, so choose the option that works best for you.
1. All-on-One-Page Course Schedules (great one-click view for beginners)
This view of the course schedule lists all the course information for the entire term on a single web page. These schedules are updated in real time, so they are always current. Users may scroll through the information or use the Find feature of a web browser to locate specific schedule information within the page for any of the terms listed below.
2. Interactive Course Schedules (intermediate users are able to customize a search of the schedule)
This interactive view enables a user to search the online course schedule database by selecting the semester from the links below and then searching, sorting, and interacting with the schedule information to locate the specific course information needed. The interactive course schedule is useful for finding (a) all the MATH 100 courses, (b) all courses offered only on the Nicholas County campus, (c) only the courses offered at 1000 hours (10 AM), or (d) only the completely remote (WEB or ZOOM) courses. The interactive schedules are updated daily (or more frequently as requested).

Tips for Searching the Interactive Course Schedule
- To access the Interactive Course Schedule, you must log in as a Guest (no password is required).
- Once you've logged in as a Guest, click the "Find" button at the top of your browser window to begin your search.
- All the records will disappear, and you can choose the variables or search terms for your search. Click any of the drop-down buttons to choose your search criteria.
- Some of the fields are not drop-down buttons but instead blank text fields. You can type in your information in those fields.
- Keep your search simple. You don't need to make selections for every field. Choose only one field for the most basic search.
- After you choose your search criteria, click the "Perform Search" button at the top of your browser window.
- If you don't succeed with your first search, try new variables and search again.
3. IVN and Zoom Weekly Course Schedules
This graphical view of the course schedule identifies only the IVN courses to easily identify which rooms on each campus are scheduled for a specific IVN class. It is helpful for quickly identifying where IVN courses are scheduled each week. These schedules are updated in real time, so they are always current.
