Charge
The Information Technology Advisory Group (ITAG) is charged by the President to assist the Chief Information Officer and Director of Online Learning with the development and oversight of policies, procedures, plans, programs, budgets, fees and service charges that are designed to deliver efficient and effective centralized information technology services to the muliple constituencies of the New River educational community.
Specifically, this group provides effective guidance by:
- Assisting with the scheduling of upgrades and enhancements of technology services and facilities.
- Reviewing technology plans, strategies, and policies at all levels across the College.
- Representing user consituencies for all aspects of the New River technology infrastructure and the interrelated realms of academic and administrative computing and networking.
- Appoints task forces and subcommittees as necessary for deeper investigations into technology-related issues.
- Makes recommendations regarding configurations of computer-based learning facilities to include software and hardware issues.
- Exploration and adoption of new technologies and services to support the instructional program.
- Reviews and makes recommendations regarding campus standards for hardware, software, and user support.
- Explores and makes available potential faculty development opportunities.
Membership
Members are appointed by the President through a nomination process. Members serve non-renewable two year appointments.
